my second home

if you've seen my tweets or know me and talk to me often enough to know my weekly schedule (AHEM GARBO AHEM) yall would know that i spend a minimum of 2 days at church.

whether it's because i'm serving (doing video mixing or just helping around), worshiping (straight up church services), or i got dragged there by people (most likely my parents) - i'm usually at church.

normally i'd got to Church on Fridays for Youth and Sundays for Church.

simple enough right?

no

lately i've been doing alot of video editing and filming for my youth group; announcements and promotions, and i'm usually available all week (well before i was available almost 5 days a week) so my time for filming is usually on the weekdays where i have my days off school or well; during the holidays.

so thats 1-2 more days

then there's my video mixing thing. i just recently got rostered on for video mixing atleast twice a month (sunday and saturday - same weekend). And sometimes i take over people's "shifts" so i do their weekend as well.

that's i guess 1 more day (cos i'm usually at church on sundays anyway)

so lemme tally up all the days...

1+1+2 = 4 (duh)

with 1 to 2 days margin of error.

i spend 2 to 5 days at church.

and my parents wonder why i'm always in my room for the time that i AM home...

Dont get me wrong; i love spending time at church, helping out, praising God and all.

but when it just DRAGS ON.
i cant take it.

Saturdays and Sundays are the worse;

on the saturdays that i DO go to church i usually have to do my vision mixing thing. which coincides with my parents cooking food to feed the homeless and disadvantaged.
my work finishes when the church service does - around 8pm. my parents finish when the kitchen is spotless and clean and it's 3 hours into the next day.

so today - being saturday (actually sunday now but we'll say it's saturday for argument's sake) i had to be at church early (4 pm) to set up the cameras - my parents needed to get there early too, to start on the cooking. so we got there and i did my mixing thing and my parents did they thing too. i finished at 8; went to the kitchen and got some food. i stood around, talked to people, ate some more, talked to people some more, stood around, helped a bit... when they were all done, we eventually left.

we got home at 11:30pm

tomorrow; i'm doing it all again. get there before 10am - preferably 9 - set up finish at 12pm; but this time after church: instead of waiting for my parents to finish their bible study which drags on til 3pm mind you, i'll be at the local housing commissions, filming some of the people at church give christmas hampers to the residents there. so YAY i get to do something!
but it's what happens after that i'm worried about.
i'm pretty sure that my 'Rents aill STILL be at church, STILL cleaning, STILL talking, and STILL wont go home.

wrapping up; ive tried going home myself, taking public transport and commuting home. but i gotta tell you - it sucks.
if you dont own a mode of private transport during the weekend, you're gonna have a hard time getting anywhere.

so yeah i'm stuck at church; it's ok when you want to go, but it starts to go sour when you're there for too long.

i know how you feel! sort of..
i dont go to church nearly as much as you but im usually being volunteered to help out with stuff all the time. I like it but at the same time after a while it gets a little bothersome. But my mom left to West Virginia to work at a new church so my youth group days are starting to come to an end =/

I feel you on that Ralphie there is a huuuuge difference between going to church and working at church. The latter is far more hectic than the first. Maybe you should tell people your limits because you are human and limited. and you don't want to get burntout like I did. I pray God gives you extra strength until it gets better though dude
