Re: Steven Bae's Blog

you can see it here:

ok.

I dont hate on Gay people; heck i found out a couple of years ago that my cousin was Gay. it was a bit of a shock but i kinda saw it coming.
one of my classmates is gay - and he's one of the most creative people i've seen. not cos he's Gay; its cos he's talented.

i gotta admit i do say the word Fag or Gay or Homo in the sense that i describe something negative; but that's what's been subconsciously programmed in me. tell you the truth i have a slight homo-phobia; but only when i feel like im in a compromising position. but other than that - i'm a physical kind of person.

i prefer hugs instead of awkward handshakes.
i like to get close to a person, yknow arms around the shoulders - all buddy buddy kind of thing.

i'll say it again - i like gay people... but i dont like the stuff they do.
i dont condone their prefered sexual activity; its unnatural.
i can understand how they feel for each other and all but guy-on-guy just wasnt meant to be (imho).

i also think that being "Gay" is not something you were born with. a person develops this thinking that they like the same sex and through peers, media and even parents this mind set is enforced until the person ultimately decides that they are attracted to the same sex and that they were born that way. regardless of all the flack that i'm prob gonna get - i think homosexuality is more of a decision/lifestyle rather than an "in built function" for a lack of a better word.

as a christian i'm told to love the Sinner but hate the Sin. so when i hear fellow "christians" calling homosexuals these names and condemning them, it makes me sad:

- that they're using the label of christianity to "gain the right" to judge someone because of their sexual preference.
- and also verbally abusing a fellow human being (which is a bad thing to do - christian or otherwise)

i say - love these people the way you would like to be loved; the way God loves you. unconditionally and with out any bias towards what you may look from the outside but what you are on the inside.

i think though; that if a gay person truly accepts Jesus in their life, they'll be changed. not immediately but through a slow process of self re-discovery and being in a more meaningful relationship with God.
Sure, he/she may still be slightly attracted to the same sex; but i guess they wont be acting upon it.

its definitely a shaky subject - and i dont claim to know everything and this is one of the topics that i'm unsure about.

Btw; if you've read until here - you probably do care enough about what i do or what i think about so here's some updates...

-------

i'm still freaking swamped with assignments - i'm not sure when i'll be recording a new video.
i have like 4 things due next week, 2 of which i have barely started or even at all.
on top of that i have to go record Youth News and edit it and blech...

i hate being busy; i also hate being restless.

i just want to sit around all day; reading comics, blogs, eating food and spending time with friends.

anyway; it's getting late an i'm filming youth news at 10:30am tomorrow =_=

just some stuff

hey;

i havn't had the time to blog or even vlog lately cos i've been busy with work.
hopefully those who read my blogs havnt unwatched me :P

anyway; these past 2 weeks or something i've just been working on my animations and other projects. hopefully when i finish my ACTUAL animation project instead of excercises, i might be able to post it up on youtube or something.

lately i've been kinda of sleeping late - which is normal for me. but i think, like 3 days ago; i actually slept before 12am.

i know, shock and awe. but thanks to me being tired and Garbo doing dishes and being afk, i fell asleep. when she got back - i was sleeping. (good thing she didnt record any of it) so i woke up the following morning and found myself more awake. i mean it was THAT different from before that i noticed straight away.

i functioned in class slightly better cos of that :P when i mean slightly - i meant i didnt end up sleeping in class.

speaking of sleep, my friend Nick and i went to astor Theater in Lygon St. and watched "Man on Wire" it was a movie or a documentary or a bio-pic about this french guy who was a guerrilla tight rope walker. i mean he secretly goes to high points in the city; secretly sets up his tightrope thing and just walks aross and even stay in the middle and lie down.
And y'know the police would try and stop him which would eventually lead to his arrest. but his dream was to walk across the Empire State building.

but i dont know what happened for the rest of the movie; cos i fell asleep. id wake up ever now and then and probably catch a few sentences in french and my eyes got heavy again.

so yeah; $11 bucks slightly wasted.

but in better news; two of my short films, "The Panda Man" and "The Persistence of Memory" are being shown in the State Library in Melbourne - for those living in victoria, go and check it out. in on the HUGE screen in the library media center thing.
But for those who cant be bothered going to the city, just check out my YouTube channel, both films are in there.

anyway; i have work to do; i havent been doin much all day today. just talking to Garbs, sitting outside (great weather btw, it was awesome NGL) and eating.
but even though i've just been such a lazy bum, i'm pretty tired... i wanna take a nap. like fo' shizzle.

anyway i'll catch yall later.

PS i was thinking of doing a BlogTv Show but i couldnt be bothered...

Drinking

lets be honest; we have drunk some sort of alcoholic drink once in our life; or will be as soon as you're legal or something.

either beer; or some mixed cocktail drink or some "alcopops" (premixed drinks with weak alcohol constitution), wine or even hard drinks, mixed or neat.

i've tried em all... and i gotta say; i dont like drinking.

i hate the taste of Beer; especially Vicoria Bitter. ugh!
i hate that "Elevate" crap (energy and alcohol mix drink)
Vodka Cruisers arent that bad
Some Hard Liquor arent bad either. Rum and coke tastes pretty good.
I dont like wine...

i myself cant hold my alcohol; i've been told i have this thing where i dont have enough enzymes in my stomach to breakdown the alcohol and it just sits there... i get a splitting headache and later on i get drowzy and pass out and much later i violently throw it all up along with whatever i ate that night. not a pretty sight.

but i can see why people like to drink;
alcohol is a social drink, people drink it to fit in with people and such; nobody drinks beer cos they're thirsty... that's stupid.

the thing is i dont see why people like getting drunk. Getting Plastered, off your face, Sh*t faced and other terms that coincide with the throbbing headache; loss of inhibition, loss of balance, slurring of speech and pretty much making a complete Ass out of one's self.

and then afterwards if you end up drinking too much; you throw up everywhere, and the next morning you have the Biggest Headache known to mankind and no amount of Painblockers could help to relieve it.

nothing good comes out of drinking...
unless you're sober enough to actually enjoy the company, or if your sober enough to watch the first Drunk guy from your group to make an ass of himself.

i guess what i'm trying to say is:

Drink Responsibly, cos i wont be responsible for your ass.

Sick again?! i'm too busy to be sick.

seriously i'm getting sick and tired (no pun intended) of me being ill all the time.

i need some sort of super soldier serum or something... get huge like capt. america :D
or have some sort of advanced Healing factor like Claire Bennet / wolverine (adamantium claws might be nice).

i hate having a blocked nose. every bleeding consonant becomes a B or a D T_T
if it isnt a blocked nose it's a runny one - constantly having to blow your nose (i get pretty loud too), and sometimes if i'm in class; i walk out of the room to do it and i end up walking in and out 5+ times a lesson and to get back it you gotta knock cos the door's constantly locked.

i also hate feeling tired and have no energy - you feel like you cant do anything; all you wanna do is sleep. but in my situation; being tired is not an option.

i'm busier than last time - with curricular and extra curricular work.

by this week i gotta have done the Voice Acting for my Animation, my Video DvD assignment is due on Friday and i gotta start on my design (i'm supposed to have already done 4 pages already)
by next week i gotta have a "recap" video clip of the youth Camp and slot it in the news.

sometimes i wish i just worked at a Tv station and just did vision mixing or something... atleast it's a constant stream of work and it's the same thing not like 6 things at once.

good news is - i finished the Tshirt i'm giving Garbo for her Bday.
hopefully i'll be mailing it wed. morning and it'll get there hopefully ON her bday.
She knows about the shirt; just not the design on the shirt :) that's a surprise.

anyway - it's like 1am and Terry (my friend) is coming by at 10:30 to do the voice Acting.

peace out, Girl Scout

PS;

ZOMGBBQWTH
HEROES~!
i wont spoil dw

My Family Friend's Wedding

so waking up at 10 am today i realised we werent going to church.

ok, so i knew that i was going to a wedding - didnt know we were gonna skip church altogether. oh and also - by going to this wedding; i'd be missing a Best Friend's dinner... i had to go to the wedding; its not like they can just do a catch up ceremony the next week. Doi

anyway, i got spiffed up - suit and tie, with an added fedora to top it all.
and i also put product in my hair for the first time in a really long time.

so the 1hr or so Ride was boring but when we got there i recognized it.
it was the same place where we had my Graduation Dinner.

i saw the inside, it was all white and really pristine.
i had a bit of trouble with the guest list.

i'm used to being called RALPH outside of home; at home i get called by my middle name: Louisse (pronounced Luis) and that was the name i was listed as.
so when i said my name - Ralph - the receptionist had a difficult time finding my name, i realized what was happening and i finally got in. :S

i sat down and waited for the ceremony to start.
it did eventually aside from all the late people coming in minutes before the bride walked down the aisle (who by the way looked absolutely stunning)...

tsk tsk

anyhoo; it was a really nice wedding - you could tell that the couple getting wed REALLY loved each other.
made me think - could i make that kind of commitment? would i be able to love someone that much?

well i guess i'm pretty darn close to a certain someone right?

anyway - after that we all went to take photos with the newly weds, while we were all waiting h'Ors d'Ouvers (sp?) were being served.

i ate practically every type they had except for the spring rolls/egg rolls and the small meat pies.
i ate:

fish sticks
dumplings
falafel
spinach and ricota pastry

the dips were this Curry thing and sweet chilli sauce.

Dinner was eventually served and here's the menu.

entree was good; even tho it smelt burnt...
for the Main course i ate the salmon but i also tried the Chicken

dessert came 'round and i went all out.
profiteroles, creme brule (which was freaking awesome) and triple choc Brownies!

they had a toast for the bride and groom in which i participated...

and followed through a bit too enthusiastically...

and caused a bit of a prob. :S

anyway - it ended up being a good day and yeah... congrats to Aris and Ai Hoon McRae; and may they be blessed with many years of marriage.

peace

Camp Aftermath [warning = LONG ENTRY]

Hey; so yeah - i got back from camp today.
And may i say; it was great.

although there were some downsides but i'll tell you about that later.

so on thursday i left class earlier to get to practice - which i didnt end up making cos i was running around trying to get stuff organized and etc etc.

got to the bus - it was a fun ride; watched hancock on my Laptop (so asian), Ps Jesse (my youth pastor) went up to me ans said he have you got Kungfu Panda? then i realized:

Ps. Jesse asked me to Get KungFuPanda the night before cos we were going to watch it after supper - i said yeah; i should be able to get it.

but i didnt - i forgot about it!

we was like.. oh... do you have any other movies then? i said - i have the new indiana Jones, and some other movies... but they werent really suitable... he looked disappointed..
Urrgh... why did i forget it?!

1st night at Camp; Dinner was Curry Chicken, well i thought it was with Vegies and mash potato... mmm

(here you go Chris; food stories :P )

session one was with Ps. Jesse speakin a little something about what to expect in the following meetings, the meeting ended and we had supper. no movie so i just played Killer Bunnies with the kids in my cabin and we watched 3rd ep of heroes.

i realized that i forgot my FireWire cable - so no Camp news... another dissapointment.
=_=

morning broke and we had Cereal for breakfast. then we had some Games and activities and then we had lunch.
Ham / salami sandwiches with veggies and a side of potato and bacon salad or egg and chicken salad.

good eating

we had our first session with our Guest Speaker Ps. Cameron Bennet all the way from Queensland. He was good. at the end of his Schpiel everyone got to the front incl. me and started to seek God - it was awesome.

then i sat with some of my friends and talked about stuff and then the guys set up the slipNslide...

oh yeah; so yep - i went and took a run up and slid down the hill pretty darn fast.
afterwards - we had an egg war; two eggs strapped on our heads and armed with pool noodles.

there were Islanders there - fijians, samoans and NewZealanders.... MASSIVE GUYS.
They play rugby for cryin out loud!
they ran in my direction; i ran in the other.

but then one of the leaders - Otto targeted me. i ran for my life... That guy was in the ARMY! i was honestly scared; he got me cos i'm so unfit; i got tired easily and got egg on my face... i got him in a headlock and got him back.

serves him right - dont mess with me.

after that was over; we fired up the catapult and chucked eggs at the other boys.
so we're all covered in egg, and detergent (from the slipNslide) and soaking wet. it started to rain.
then one of the islanders brought out the fire hose and start to soak the plastic sheet that covered the hill. i took a huge run up and flew down that hill.

then i took a shower.

Dinner - we had Spaghetti Bolognese mmm yum yum.

3rd session with Cam Bennet was freakin awesome too bad i didnt record the end bit cos he started to prophesy on people.

we went to our cabin afterwards but my friend Jay and I went Ninja-ing; we spyed on people still outside - unseen, unheard. heck i was a meter away and they didnt notice me.

Jay and i silently went back in our cabin and slept - i watched abit of the Avengers (cartoon movie) and then slept.

we woke up at 7:51 am and we panicked - thinking we missed practice... we went to the dining hall and found ppl just started eating. so we ate; cereal, toast and bacon and eggs... mmm yummeh.

we had our last session with Ps. Cam and it was great as ever. i left the cam on record just in case... i didnt have to... DANG!

we went back to our cabins and packed up - i reorganised my luggage to fit my dirty clothes and put it all in the bus.

had our group photo - will post later when i get them.

i got on the bus (there were two coach buses - did i mention that?) and got comfortable. soon enough i ended up sleeping. i'd wake up every now and then, but i went back to sleep.

we got to the church and they were getting ready for the sat. Evening service - i called up my 'Rents and they said that they were upstairs.

they got one of their fam. friends to drive myself and my sis Home and well here i am - 2 hrs later and still typing.

WOW long blog.

i guess i'll try and make some sort of Vlog video later this week.. if i find something interesting to talk about.

talk to you guys later,
Peace

Goin to Camp

tomorrow, after 1st Class, i'll be going straight to church cos at 3pm we'll be going to Rutherford Park (somewhere out in victoria) for our annual Raw Energy Youth Camp.

this time i'll be going as a Leader - yknow being 19 and all.

anyway, i've got a few responsibilities to take care of during that time:

1. Record EVERYTHING
2. Record and Edit News for each session.
3. Play the guitar for the band
4. Take care of the Tech equipment, sound and cameras
5. get people to help you do point 1 and 4
6. try and have fun
7. get closer to God.

so yeah, i'll be so busy i dont think i'll end up doing point 7 but i hope that doesnt happen.

on top of that, the week after this AKA next week; my Video DVD assignment is due - and i only just finished the first part of the menu today... crap; looks like late night and being a social outcast for me.

i also have other assignments i have to work on that are due the following weeks - CRAP.
and on top of that, TERRY who i need to do some voice acting for me, is not answering my txts! bastard!
can i get maybe one of you to do it for me - if it isnt any hassle?

so yeah; i'm a tad on edge right now - i'm glad i got to talk to the peeps on skype and blow off some steam. gosh, i hart you guys - you're all so funny :D

i went and watched indiana Jones and the crystal Skull movie - man the ending was WEIRD. wth?

it's almost 11:30pm now, i dunno if i should try and go to sleep or watch another movie...

anyhoo, i'll talk to you guys next week.

PS
i hate the Computer company that Garbo bought her Computer from - they didnt have stock of her comp, but they didnt tell her - instead, told her that it was going to be shipped on wed. Today. it didnt get there, she called AND IT'S STILL NOT IN STOCK!

i'm not mad that i dont get to talk to garbo on skype anymore, sure i'm a little annoyed, but it's trivial ykno.
i'm mad cos the DAMN SHOP or whatever Doesnt have the common Courtesy to tell the customer that they STILL dont have the stock. i mean - if i was in their position i would've given the customer a choice of either waiting for the Laptop to be instock or pay a bit more for a laptop that's instock and slightly better.

anyway - hopefully garbo gets her laptop so we can hear her british accent again; i think it's starting to wear off.
